Rio

With the Rio Club Chair, I wanted to create something that feels substantial and sculptural, but still incredibly comfortable and inviting. The solid teak frame is really what defines the piece, with these bold, rounded forms and soft curves that feel almost shaped by nature over time. There is a strength to the silhouette, but nothing about it feels hard or rigid.

I balanced that structure with generous outdoor performance cushions, keeping them clean and tailored so they soften the architecture without competing with it. For me, Rio is about that contrast between strength and softness, creating a chair that has a real presence in a space, but still makes you want to settle in and stay awhile.
